About The Heisman Pundit

Chris Huston, A.K.A. ‘The Heisman Pundit‘, is the creator and publisher of Heismanpundit.com, a site dedicated to analysis of the Heisman Trophy and college football.

He coordinates the Heismanpundit Heisman Poll, a weekly survey of Heisman voter sentiment.  The poll was the most accurate of all the Heisman polls in each of the last two years, picking five of the top six finishers in the final vote in 2008 while correctly tabbing the top four in 2009.  He became a Heisman voter himself in August of 2009.

He got his start as an assistant sports information director at the University of Southern California where, among other things, he conceived and directed the successful Heisman campaigns of both Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart.

Inspired by his first up-close exposure to the Heisman process in 2002, Chris formulated The 10 Heismandments, a set of unspoken, unofficial guidelines that ‘govern’ how the Heisman winner is selected. From these rules sprang the idea for Heismanpundit.com–and the rest is history. Now in its seventh season, “HP” is one of the oldest and most influential sports blogs on the internet.

Dubbed “the foremost authority on the Heisman” by Sports Illustrated, HP is regularly quoted or cited during football season in newspapers across the country.  He is also a frequent guest on sports talk radio and has made TV appearances on CBS College Sports Television and the Tony Barnhart Show.

In recent seasons, he has contributed Heisman content for the Orlando Sentinel, Sports Illustrated.com, Sporting News.com, CSTV.com and the AOL Fanhouse.

Chris has been an ardent fan of college football–as well as a dedicated student of its history–since the age of five. He is 38 and lives in Los Angeles.
