That should be all she wrote for Chris Rix. He HAD to win this game to get off on the right foot and redeem himself. Given his fragile psyche, I don’t think he’ll be able to rebound from this. FSU clearly has a very good defense and outstanding skill players (Memo to Bobby: play Cromartie BOTH ways!), but it seems like Rix has been an drag on the Seminoles’ fortunes from the moment he arrived from California.
It wasn’t just that FSU lost, but that Rix seemed to be the main reason for the loss. His mishaps wasted a fine effort by the defense.
The only way Rix can win the Heisman now is if he leads an improbable FSU run back to the BCS title game, while playing lights out along the way. I wouldn’t bet on it.
