The 2007 HP Preseason All-American Team

We did the offense a couple days ago; now, on to the very prestigious defensive team.

DE–Bruce Davis, UCLA: Great speed coming off the edge, but is getting bigger and should be better against the run. Had 12.5 sacks last year.

DE–Antwain Robinson, Arkansas: Disruptive player on and off the field who had 8.5 sacks and 68 tackles last season. Fantastic athleticism for a big guy.

2nd Team: Calais Campbell, Miami

3rd Team: Derrick Harvey, Florida

DT–Sedrick Ellis, USC: Perhaps the strongest Trojan ever, he had 8 tackles for loss despite missing three games last season.

DT–Glenn Dorsey, LSU: Anchors a nasty Tiger line. Had 64 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss in 2006.

2nd Team: Frank Okam, Texas

3rd Team: DeMario Pressley, NC State

OLB–Keith Rivers, USC: A 2006 HP All-American. Freakish athlete who led the Trojans in tackles.

OLB–Xavier Adibi, Virginia Tech: Relentless defender who hits like a ton of bricks. Also good in pass coverage, with three interceptions last year.

2nd Team: Malik Jackson, Louisville

3rd Team: Bo Ruud, Nebraska

MLB–Dan Connor, Penn State: Posluszny got the pub, but Connor was the rock of the Nittany Lion defense last year. Had 113 tackles and 5 sacks.

Linebacker U. is alive and well

2nd Team: Vince Hall, Virginia Tech

3rd Team: Rey Maualuga, USC

CB–Brandon Flowers, Virginia Tech: Won HP All-American acclaim in 2006. Had 18 pass breakups and 3 interceptions last year.

CB–Dwight Lowery, San Jose State: This pick machine led the nation in interceptions with 9.

2nd Team: Antoine Cason, Arizona

3rd Team: Justin King, Penn State

SS–Reggie Smith, Oklahoma: A great athlete with good range and hitting ability. Also returns punts and kicks.

2nd Team: Chris Horton, UCLA

3rd Team: Courtney Greene, Rutgers

FS–Taylor Mays, USC: A specimen at 6-4, 230 pounds. Can run like a corner and hit like a linebacker.

2nd Team: Kenny Phillips, Miami

3rd Team: Jamar Adams, Michigan
