Friday Morning Snacks

  • I’ll be a guest on the Fantoo Girls Radio Show on Sirius at 2:15 ET. Be sure to stop by.
  • Great finish last night to the BC-Virginia Tech game. If Matt Ryan wasn’t in the Heisman conversation before his late heroics, he is now.

But like the Heisman race as a whole, his overall performance was muddled at best. Throwing two touchdowns to rally your team is exciting; going 25 of 52 with two interceptions, not so much.

    The Wiz breaks it down.

Braves and Birds is not happy with the prospect of a Ryan win.

  • Austin Murphy hands out some other hardware.
  • More from the Orlando Sentinel on the force of nature that it Tim Tebow.

He has played the best game of his career at least five times, most recently Saturday in Lexington. His 256 passing yards, 78 rushing yards and five touchdowns (four passing, one rushing) lifted the Gators to a 45-37 victory and pushed Tebow to the top of Heisman lists on espn.com, sportsillustrated.com, and the popular heismanpundit.com.

“They’ve got a quarterback that, I don’t know,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said Sunday night. “He’s a freak of nature, really.”

  • Wendell Barnhouse of the Ft. Worth Star Telegram breaks down the current state of the Heisman race with help from a quote from yours truly.
  • Rob Mosely of the Eugene Register-Guard writes that Dennis Dixon is in the Heisman race. I agree, but only if he beats USC tomorrow.

I’m more curious to see what Jonathan Stewart’s possibilities are for a late-season run.

  • I’ll be back later today with my picks for the week.
