yup, that’s the Big (12) Picture as of right now … I am so tired of all the talk about the SEC being “the best conference” … please, get a grip: MU, OU and TX could beat AL, GA, Auburn, FLA just as easily as the other way around … SEC good? you betcha, but not BETTER than the Big 12 … no way, no how, no SEC

I’ll state upfront that I’m a major USC fan. That said, even if I weren’t biased, I think I’d still find it interesting that you were so quick to take Sanchez out of your list of candidates while leaving others who lost just as big — such as Stafford, Moreno, and Tebow — on it. Granted, Sanchez threw a costly INT. But apart from that mistake, he played well — very well at times — and was the major reason got back into the game in the 3rd quarter. He also finished with his third consecutive 3+ TD game, giving him 10 on the season. If USC runs the table, and Sanchez keeps racking up TD passes (while keeping the yards up and the INTs down), does he not get back into the race in a big way — particularly as the currently undefeated Big 12 QBs see their teams lose? Imagine USC at 11-1, #2 or #3 in the country, and Sanchez with 3,000+ yards and 35+ TD passes. That scenario is highly realistic, if not yet probable. Where do you put him then. It may start next week with a big win over now #20 Oregon…

Hey upamtn!!! What about LSU? That would make five teams to the Big 12 three. Ok I give credit to the 3 that you have listed but have you fallen on your head. What happened last year and the one before? SEC is the best and I give credit to the Big 12 for being a close second. In the last 10 years the SEC has won 4 and should have played in 2004(Auburn).

John B, the post was “if the vote were held today”.

Not later in the season, but right now.

Right now, Sanchez wouldn’t crack the top 10 after what happened Thursday.

Moreno and Stafford would barely do so because they lost to a very good team, while Tebow would make it because of his superior name recognition.

Obviously, things will change. This is just a snapshot.
