A lot of people didn’t like the hire of Gene Chizik at Auburn, but he went ahead and scored a coup by getting Gus Malzahn away from Tulsa. That move pretty much assures Auburn will be on the cutting edge of offensive football in the coming years, which is exactly what it needed going head-to-head with the Saban juggernaut at Bama.
Question: Does Charles Barkley know who Malzahn is?

I’ve always thought you were right that Malzahn is a great coach. Should be interesting to see what he can do at Auburn
Yeah, now all the SEC jingoists will know what a Big 12 team in their league is really like.
After all, we all know that they don’t play defense.
Oh, and Chizik couldn’t possibly have the football IQ to hire Malzahn.
Credit that one to AU booster, trustee, coach, athletic director, president, provost, and all-around Lord of the Plains, Bobby Lowder, who was looking to save some face for hiring Chizik and not Turner Gill.
What does Auburn and Bammer now have in common? Two game losing streaks. lol whoa tide whoaaaaaa! lmao
Like it or not Lowder didn’t hire Malzone the Chizzle did. We ain’t through yet either. From what I hear we’ve already decided on the DC but he won’t show up for a few days.
And for all the assholes accussing AU of being racist for not hiring Gill, whom I would’ve liked to have hired, screw you. That includes you Sir Charles, that is if you’ve sobered up enough to read this. Why no damn complaints about Nebraska hiring one of their own last year? Only because we’re in the south and y’all morons are worse than we’ve ever have been when it comes to sterotypes.
Now let the redneck, hillbilly, sister humpin,KKK BS commence from you sorry bastards.
WAR DAMN EAGLE! By the way Ole Miss is the team to beat in 2009 in the SEC west not Bammer. Lil Nicky just got his dick knocked in the dirt. lmao
Florida will roll OU just like USC did in 2004. The Rebel’s lackluster offense kicked the ole piss outta TT so why expect anything less from the Gators?
Happy New Year all. lol
good to have my boy back now that auburn’s season is decidedly over…where were you this season bub?
Boy? Got your hand in your own drawers again huh, Bubba?
So, Gene Chizik, who is probably getting his money from Lowder’s cash sack, who had 5 wins in two years at Iowa State, has spent his career has a defensive coordinator, who is still rightfully criticized by most outsiders as a bad candidate for the job, and who was only able to get 3 people to speak positively for him on AU’s website, all of them former Tigers, and 2 of whom played under Chizik, suddenly had a flash of inspiration and found a diamond in the rough in Malzahn all by himself?
I don’t believe it. Lowder is too smart and has invested too much money in Chizik to let him hire Malzahn without *some* help.
That’s not the way it works down in the Plains.
Because Nick Saban also had some say in the hiring.
Gill certainly wasn’t Lowder’s choice but neither was Chizik. Malzahn was Chizik’s choice whether you wanna believe it or not. Had Booby Lowder had it his way we’d be running the ND Box. That much I know! Lowder is on his last leg down on The Plains. Despite his money, other folks that count are fed up with his meddling. Jet Gate handcuffed that old bastard as did the performance of the academics of AU. He can’t fart without the NCAA knowing what he had to eat. Does he still have influence? Yeah, but not like pre 2003.
By the way we have hired 4 assisant coaches and 3 are black but no mention of this by the press? At least 1 more coach will be black and maybe 3 or 4 more if they accept offers in hand. Maybe someday Gill can return to his alma mater which passed on hiring him without critisism. If not maybe someday he can end up at one of the other 117 D1A schools that didn’t hire him.
Chizik was a stretch for my taste’s but he’s here now and already turnin heads on the recruiting trail. We’re getting interest from new kids plus a couple that decommitted have come back into the fold. He also got Coleman to stay for his senior year on defense so that’s as good as a new signing but already with D1A experience.
Only time will tell if Chizik was a good hire. Like I said Ole Miss is the team to beat in the SEC West in 09 and bammer will be lucky to have 8 wins. They won’t sneak up on anyone and they still don’t have depth as was shown in the Sugar Bowl. They were luckier than good in 08. But 12 wins is 12 wins, huh? Then again AU and UA both start the 2009 season with two game losing streaks so those 12 wins are water under the bridge. the whoaaa tide whoaaaaaaa nation better hope ND doesn’t fire Cheeseburger Charlie after next year or Lil Nicky will leave mullet nation in a heart beat!
You know, Saban almost reminds me of Santa Claus.
He’s named Nick, wears red, carries a large sack home (albeit full of money), and gives the good boys and girls of Tuscaloosa the gifts of victories and highly-touted recruits year after year. He’s certainly got some of the physique.
All that’s missing is the hat, the facial hair, and the catchphrase “Ho,ho,ho”
No innuendi were intended in the making of the previous comment.
yep all that for mullet nation and then it won’t be long before he boards his sleigh and soars into the night. Off to his next, last coaching job! lol bammer won’t win more than 8 games next season and my perdictions have nothin to do with being an Aubie it has to do with knowing what the tuscaloser boys have comin back and what they gonna face. Even with a lil more depth they better stay healthy in 09 or they will be lucky to win 6 games. So far as my Tigers we have experience coming back and several talented RS players that will contribute right away. We also have 4 or 5 recruits that will play as true freshmen. Despite the pitiful showin in 08 we ain’t dead and buried just yet! Down? Yep. Out, never!
