The only way Alabama will be a surprise team is if they lose more than 3 games. I don’t see them going undefeated, but they should win at least 10 games. Any less than that would be a surprise.

I have to disagree on Auburn, HP. When GM came to Arkansas he inherited 10 starters but “only” got the team to improve by 3 points and 15 total yards per game from 2005. It was the defense – which gave up six points and 42 total yards less per game – which helped to get Arkansas over the hump. GM had better personnel in Fayetteville during his first year too; he won’t be so lucky at Auburn. Baylor is obviously the media’ “it” pick, but I would also mention teams like Texas A&M, UTEP, and Toledo in there.
