What's your criteria for the rankings? I'm guessing you favor strength at the top over overall depth? I would be shocked if the ACC wasn't one of the top 3 conferences this year IF you base the criteria on A) line up the teams top to bottom, who would likely beat whom or B) would you think would win a round-robin if all teams played.
The ACC should be the most improved conference this year - almost every team was extremely young last year, yet last year the ACC's worst (Duke, obviously) almost beat the 4th place team from the Big 11 - Duke probably would have been a bowl team in the Big 11 or the Pac 10. The problem with the ACC was weakness at the top, which could very well change this year.

I'm surprised people even bother discussing conference rankings anymore. Any ranking is subjective, and no matter what you say, someone is always willing to argue the point. Plus, what does it even mean to rank conferences? What criteria is being used here?

Generally speaking, "conference rankings" are just a vehicle for expressing one of two very basic opinions about college football. Either they're an effort to rationalize one fan's too-lofty opinion of his team's conference, or they're making a very base complaint about BCS auto-bids (i.e. "OMGZ! MWC > Big LEAST").

I remain a little skeptical of the Big 12. They put up great offensive numbers, but the defenses remain highly suspect. I'm not saying their NOT number 2, but I was not overly impressed with how they performed in the bowls against better defenses.

I wish the cartel autobids reflected your rankings.

Go Frogs!

As for the Gators... I prefer to crown my champions in January.

ACC and MWC will be better than the lil 11. Championship game winner will be the damn Gators again. Loaded ain't the word for da reptiles. You ain't seen defense untill you see what they trot out next season. gonna be some whopsided scores against decent teams cause noone will be able to score on em. Will USC finally make it to THE GAME? Me thinks so. Still gonna be a severe ass whuppin from the Gators. Hell no I don't wanna see UF win another title under the Urban Myth but they don't play Auburn aka: the Gator Gutter's, so he has an easy schedule. Maybe the rest of the college world will have a shot in 2010 when UM bolts the SEC for the Golden Dome? Nah.... lol
