BTW, in the first few lines of Case's bio in the media guide, it says this:

"The nation's returning leader in total offense... listed as one of the top returning players in 2009 by several publications... is a viable Heisman Trophy candidate as well as the Maxwell Award and the Davey O'Brien award... intuitive leader who always makes plays."

Sumlin has been quoted by ESPN and the New York Times as saying Keenum deserves to be considered for the Heisman. Maybe the school is not actively promoting him, but it's definitely a grass roots effort by the coaching staff. I suspect things on the PR front will change drastically after this season.

wrmsox, there is no acknowledgement of blowing coverage at all. If anything, I was further justifying my stance. Unfortunately, I can't just stop by Houston. There is this cool thing called the internet, though, whereby Houston could make people aware of their campaign for Keenum.

Amy, thanks again for the info on the poster. I hope Houston sends me a copy, because then I would help publicize it.

I commented about Keenum on your last list, but I didn't give you grief because I understand how it all works.

But ... I DO have in my possession a poster produced by the University of Houston that has a picture of Keenum and the words "Case Keenum, 2009 Heisman Trophy Candidate." So as to whether or not the UH is promoting him as a Heisman candidate, I couldn't answer. But I'm looking at that poster as I type.

I doubt they're making a giant push at this point, but they ARE trying to get his name out there. Probably hoping it will be a build up to a campaign for the 2010 Heisman. If you're interested in seeing the poster, I can e-mail it.

ok, we'll give you credit for acknowledging you blew it on your coverage. But, maybe you should stop by the school or talk to a handful of u/h alums or even a coach or two before you spew that the school isnt behind its QB.......
