From a reader:

What are your thoughts on the USC-Ohio St. game week 2?  Oddsmakers have made USC a slight favorite but I can’t get over the QB matchup in this one.  SC probably going to have a QB playing his first road game and it’s at the Horseshoe no less.  Seems like a good spot for a Pryor coming out party as well.  I see Ohio St possibly rolling here but friends say USC still too strong.  Thoughts?

This is a tough call.  You have to like USC’s history of being ready for games like this.  But Pryor is a real wildcard who can throw such predictability out of the window.  I think it will depend on how much Jim Tressel lets Pryor be Pryor and whether USC’s Aaron Corp is the starter at quarterback.

If the Trojans start or play freshman Matt Barkley, I don’t like USC’s chances in the Horseshoe.  If Tressel keeps Pryor under wraps and doesn’t let him get creative with his feet, I don’t like Ohio State’s chances.

Overall, I give USC a slight edge, but at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if either team rolled to a solid victory.  More on this as game day approaches.
