Best Up First

Check out this story on how the Heisman stars are starting to line up for Cal’s Jahvid Best.

Sure, it took an injury to Sam Bradford, an iffy half by Colt McCoy and a bit of Tim Tebow tedium, but suddenly Cal running back Jahvid Best is on everyone’s Heisman trophy short list.

“I am?” Best said Wednesday evening. “I didn’t know that.”

Of the top three candidates, Best is going to be the first one tested in a major game with national and Heisman implications.  I’m talking about October 3 versus USC at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley.

If Best plays well and the Bears win, he may well leapfrog past one, or both, of the other candidates.
