The race, if the season plays out as expected, could very well come down to the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta.

Tim Tebow and Ingram, fittingly enough, are two top candidates for the award, in much the same way as their teams are candidates for the trophy. A Florida-Alabama SEC Title Game, aside from potentially being the most hyped conference matchup in recent memory, would also provide a sterling opportunity for one of the two to have a Heisman moment by upstaging the other.

I'm a longtime Alabama fan so I guess it would be nice to see a Bama player get the Heisman.

However; I personally think the Heisman is pretty much a joke. The lack of recipients playing as an interior lineman or tight end or anywhere on defense tells me that most voters don't know much about football other than seeing who scores the touchdowns.

My favorite quote about the Heisman came from the last time Alabama won a championship against Miami (and Heisman winner Gino Torretta). If you recall, the Alabama defense, led by George Teague, totally dominated that game. In the waning moments one of the commentators said, "This game shows that Torretta is not the best player in college football; he's not even the best player on the field wearing number 13."

As another Bama man, I couldn't agree more with the above comment. #22 has led this team like a Trojan so far. He deserves it and i'm always for guys who give their all for Bama getting the accolades they deserve. How can you not want that? But UA football is about championships.

Getting excited about Heismans is for Auburn and Georgia fans.

As an Alabama fan, a Heisman would be nice for Mark.

But I mean it's an individual award, in a team sport. I think we'd all be really proud for Mark, but the day of the award ceremony I'm not going to get that wrenching in my gut like I did during South Carolina, or that incredible high like I had in the VT win. It'll be closer to, alright, he won, awesome. Now lets kick some ass in Pasedena. :D
