The fact that this site exists is a testament to the absurdity that Heisman Trophy voting has become.

1) Much like pre-season polls, the deck is stacked for a few teams/players before a single snap has taken place
2) ESPN can (and does) drive the hype towards specific players
3) Unsubstantiated bias is driven by lazy arguments devoid of statistical evidence

The award itself needs a collective reboot back into it's original intent. The best individual player in College Football.

Honestly, I feel no guilt saying Oregon's Jeremiah Masoli and LeMichael James also deserve to be there.

They took a few games to get started, but James has 4 straight 100+ rushing games as a freshman, for crying out loud, and Masoli is the driving force (running and passing) behind the nations best offense (throwing that out there, argue :)).

Watching Oregon with Masoli behind the wheel (exhibit A: Washington) and without (UCLA game) and it's crystal clear who Oregon's MVP is.

Why not? The big names have imploded, and these guys just might drive their team to the Rose Bowl or better, although we've got a lot of season still to play, including Saturday's monster game against USC.

I feel that Mark Ingram is not deserving of the amount of votes he has been receiving. He only rushed for 99 yards against Tennessee. Why are you voting for him "just because?" You make no sense, voter, and my entire opinion of this website has completely changed, because of the fact that one of the thirteen voters is a complete (deleted). Go home you (deleted), and may God have mercy on your empty soul. Oh wait, your soul isn't empty, it's full of...

Okay, HP, so the questions now become Who has the best chance, against their remaining competition, of giving the voters the breakout game(s) they want, thereby vaulting to the top of ballots? And could they do it in one game, or will it take multiple breakout games the way this race is going? Your thoughts?
