The Heisman should not be awarded just for playing quarterback at a school with the country's best defense, especially when you have a terrible season like Colt McCoy. He has a 370 yard, 3 td, 1 int passing game against a terrible team and people want to crown him God-Emperor. Earlier that day, Case Keenum had 400 yards, 5 touchdowns and no picks in the FIRST HALF, then went and sat down as the Cougars rolled. The Heisman is for most outstanding college football player. Keenum is still it.

Too bad that Dexter McCluster only played substantially in 4 games - accounted for over 900 yards (over 9 yards per touch). Great kid, active in community with kids - deserved better treatment than he got from Ole Miss coaches.

Dave,

Not everyone is in love with McCoy. Sure, he broke the record with most wins, but how many QBs have actually played four full years of college ball? Most NFL QBs haven't even been in 40 college games.

And McCoy has not impressed many this year. His numbers are good, but there are other QBs with better numbers, and Texas has only been challenged once this year, against Oklahoma.

How did McCoy rise to the challenge? By throwing for 127 yds. That is why Ingram is in the lead, and rightly so. He steps up when the game is on the line. This year Texas is where they are because of the defense, not because of McCoy. And they have beaten only one ranked team all year OSU, which is going to lose their ranking after they get clobbered by OU next week. Alabama has beaten four ranked teams and they will soon have to play #1 Florida. Texas has to play yet another unranked mediocre team.

McCoy's numbers are good, but he plays some of the weakest defenses, whereas Ingram has played some of the toughest rushing defenses.

Hear is the deal, as far as all around athletes and who will make the biggest impact on Sunday's and who is the most al around best college football player - C.J. Siller - no question. Humble, integrity, leadership, talent are just a few charcteristics that he excudes. Just look at this past week, he made it about the team, not him.

It's over everyone - Colt McCoy won it on national TV last night. With McCoy nailing down the most wins by ANY starting quarterback EVER, not to mention being the undisputed character leader of an undefeated team and having incredible stats, it's really impossible to NOT vote for him. Toby Gerhart? Give me a break - he's had a few good games but if he's so great why has Stanford lost so much?. Mark Ingraham? He's having a good year, so what? Tim Tebow - well just compare the stats, and he's one-dimensional because he can't throw.

Anyone who doesn't vote for McCoy will carry around the guilt that they didn't vote for the best quarterback in college football history, who will probably follow a similar path as Roger Staubach (character, discipline, success) into the NFL Hall of Fame. The voters know this, they just need some time to admit it to themselves. Once everyone gets past all this micro/nano analysis and see the big picture, The Heisman will have have Horns on it this year.

No way Chase is not # 1 or # 2 in race. It is a joke that those other players are ahead of him. No other player, but Ingram is deserving.

tigercpa,

Ingram had one carry in the fourth quarter against MSU. One.

He has not "padded" his stats in the least this season. Start paying attention some, son.
