A BLIND HEISMAN TROPHY WINNER THIS YEAR?

If Tebow, McCoy and Ingram all had to be led out onto the field with seeing eye dogs, couldn't pass and couldn't run, they would still be at the top of the Heisman watch. This is ridiculous. Instead of playing games let's start just picking Heisman winners at the start of the year. Let's take away all of the pretense that the Heisman winner actually deserves it. Let's stop even tallying up statistics. It wouldn't matter if a QB threw for 1,000,000 yards and threw for 5,000 Touchdowns in a season. IT DOESN'T MATTER! Look at the records of the top three clowns on this list. Their stats suck and if they didn't have a defensive team to win games for them they would be on losing teams. Case Keenum has to actually play and perform to win. If Case Keenum's team had a defense he would have twice the stats he has now because his offense would be on the field even longer. The powers-that-be are biased nitwits who couldn't care less who is the best player, or best quarterback, in the land. They decided who they wanted to be the Heisman winner before the season even started. It's not an award any longer. It's a damned popularity contest.

Sportswriters, coaches and everyone involved in this charade should be ashamed of themselves. They don't give a damn about talent or quality. All they care about is perpetuating myths. Tebow, Mccoy and Ingram would be flops at Houston because Houston doesn't have a good defense to bail them out. These guys have 1/10th the talent of Case Keenum.

Keenum was taken out of the game at halftime last night and he still outperformed all three of the top three bozos in this list.

FOOTBALL SNOBS

The powers-that-be already determined who they were going to select as their Heisman winner before the season started. It wouldn't matter if Tebow, McCoy or the Alabama slug QB threw 10 interceptions a game and only threw for 10 yard a game. The powers-that-be would pick them anyway. Statistics and quality mean nothing. Case Keenum has to work five times as hard to outscore Houston opponents to win because Houston's defense isn't very good. None of the top five QBs on this ridiculous list could win at Houston, not one. Case Keenum is better than every one of them.

If not for the SEC officials Alabama and Florida would both have at least one loss to a crappy team. But SEC officials and the powers that be seem to be doing whatever they can to ensure their 'chosen ones' make it to the national championship game.

It's too bad that ineptness and corruption is so widespread in American culture. From Wall Street to sportswriters to SEC officials, everyone seems to be on the take. Why even play the damned game. Let's just anoint the Heisman winner BEFORE the season? It's a joke and what is sad are all the dishonest snobs who are not even considering Case Keenum, even though he is the best QB in the country.

As a Case Keenum fan, I understand why he doesn't have a prayer. So if we're talking unbiased opinion of who deserves the award, its no doubt Gerhart. He has clearly been the best player this season, and has week in and week out put up big numbers in the conference that will have the most teams in the top 25 when this week's votes come out. Ingram failed to show up this week, and both Tebow and McCoy despite their teams' success, have not consistently put up Heisman numbers this season. Looking at their numbers, and what they have done THIS SEASON, I don't see how it is even contest.

Colt McCoy should be in the #1 spot on the Heisman polls by the time you read this. His performance against Texas A&M was phenomenal! What a way to end his regular season career. Clearly he deserves Heisman recognition for the year he has had this season. BUT, when you add to that his previous three seasons and the fact that he is the winningest college quarterback in the HISTORY of the game there should be no doubt who deserves the Heisman more.

Please vote for Colt McCoy on Nissan's Heisman website, where YOU and I get a chance to influence the vote.

I'm an agitator, to be sure. Case Keenum has consistently looked better to my eyes than any other player in the country except for Ndamukong Suh. And neither of them will be in New York. I would love to see somebody jump on my Bernard Pierce, All-American bandwagon. Is there any way he gets at least a couple of throwaway votes for lifting Temple up out of the garbage pail and into serious consideration for the Top 25? Happy Thanksgiving, folkers.

Well, living in Texas, I gotta go with the Longhorns, but the Gators and Bama both play great D. Mr. T Bow is the toughest guy playing QB I have ever seen and Mark Ingram will knock your gear sideways when you hit him. Who is the best??? I like Colt, but I have to admit the other two guys should be voted over him.

In other news:

Scientists have confirmed that Tim Tebow does in fact sweat holy water.

When asked to comment on his plans for after college, Tim Tebow stated that he intends to be the first player in NFL history to win a championship...as a 1 man team.

In fact, rumors have been swirling that the reason that LA doesn't have a pro team is because Roger Goodell is holding it open for the expansion Los Angeles Fighting Tebows. The head coach has already been named...Tim Tebow, of course.

When asked what he will do to celebrate if he wins his second Heisman Trophy and consecutive National Titles Tim Tebow simply shrugged and said "I'm not sure, I think that I will take a couple seconds to let it all sink in. After that, I think I'll either cure cancer or solve world hunger."

And so my friends, as we can see it would be a travesty if Tim Tebow won a second Heisman. For surely such a mundane award is beneath this transcendent being who's very existence makes this world a better place.

I think the reason this race seems different is that the three main contenders all play on undefeated teams with great defenses.

Top 3 in the nation in total defense:
1. Alabama
2. Florida
3. Texas

That's downright bizarre given the correlation between lousy defense and good Heisman stats. While McCoy has played the most of any of the three, I think you'd be hard pressed to say that even he has padded his stats.

Hard to get a gauge on the pulse of this years race, but it feels ... different. Feels like its lacking the edge/hype/q factor etc score of years passed. Do you think that its because there isn't a clear outstanding candidate who most likely will win. Whereas last year there were 3 legit contenders, and the year before with Tebow being the first sophomore - I dont know but something about this race seems off? Cant quite place my finger on it - but maybe its because there hasn't been a clear contender and the 3 favorites going into the season didn't live up the extreme hype? Am I the only one thinking/feeling this?
