Heisman Ballots Due Today…

…at 5 p.m. ET.

This is the first year that all ballots are being cast online.  Makes me wonder if anyone is going to help Johnny Lujack–the oldest living Heisman winner–get on the internet.

I expect the following players to be announced for New York on Tuesday:

Colt McCoy

Mark Ingram

Toby Gerhart

Tim Tebow

I’d be shocked if Ndamukong Suh or C.J. Spiller were included, but stranger things have happened.

    Gerhart vs. Ingram ?

    The numbers tell the tale.

Total yardage, Touchdowns, performance in Last Game: GERHART HANDS DOWN……….

    Am I missing something ????

Yes you are indeed missing something, namely the defenses Ingram has faced vs those that Gerhert has faced. If Ingram had faced the teams Gerhert did then his numbers even higher. Neither USC nor Oregon has a stout run defense to put it kindly.

If voters held onto their ballots until today, I think it’ll be Suh instead of Tebow in New York.

And, does anybody know Johnny Lujack, or know someone who knows him, so we can get him on the site to talk smack about our host and his presumption about older people using the internet? :)

If StiffArmTrophy.com is to be believed — and they’ve correctly projected seven consecutive Heisman winners, with an average vote total error of just 1.8% — Suh’s inclusion in the NYC invite list isn’t shocking at all; on the contrary, he appears to be in an exceptionally tight three-way race for the trophy with Ingram and Gerhart. It’s anybody’s race between those three. McCoy looks to be 4th, Tebow a distant 5th.
