How funny. People trying to be logical. Look. The good news is that it’s not going to the human proselytizer Tim Twingbo. We will only have to here him say “God Bless” one more time. Gerhart deserves it but one of Ingram or McCoy will get it because thats what Nissan and Espn and ABC and CBS really want.

I love how McCoy scrambled and did the game saving pass to the out of bounds and made it special dramatic. I know he knew the officials would put more time on the clock because he’s one of the BCS Heisman candidates that Nissan Really wants to Win. Oh, and to all you people saying the Heisman is not a career cumulative award I say….Vaginal fluid. McCoy looks like a Bug and plays like a Bug. He’ll never do anything at any over level but lets honor his buggishness. I agree that any of the other Top Ten Teams Beats Texas heads up. But he looks like a bug. Cool

HP–first off, I’m not so sure Richardson’s faster than Ingram.

Second, if Richardson actually had “better vision” and “better balance”, I suggest he starts using them to gain more yards before he goes down. Otherwise people might not realize how good he is.

But that’s what’s wonderful about obscure comments based on nothing but your own perception–you can claim whatever you want to with them.

Care to explain how Ingram manages to get almost 2 ypc more than Richardson in games that matter? Do defenses just decide to step it up when Richardson comes into the game, because they’re fired up about finally facing a good back?

(Incidentally, good call on the Florida game…but I guess that Upchurch is the real star in that backfield, since he had more ypc than either Ingram or Richardson. Wow, it’s amazing how many yards you can gain when the other team realizes it’s a lost cause.)

Solon, if you actually watch the two run, you can see that Richardson is the better back. Faster, stronger, better balance, more power, better vision. Other than in those areas, Ingram is more skilled.

Which back averaged more yards per carry against Florida (the best defense either back faced)? Gee, guess you forgot that neato stat!

I am curious as to which fool started the “Ingram isn’t even the best back on his team” meme. Seriously, it’s just bloody stupid.

Ingram averaged 6.2 ypc this season. Richardson averaged 5.1 ypc…always AFTER entering the game later, and fresh.

Ingram averaged 10.7 yards per reception; Richardson, 7.6.

Ingram had 18 TDs, Richardson had 7 TDs–and, if you consider ‘touches,’ Ingram scored a TD once every 14.4 times he touched the ball; Richardson scored once every 23.3 times he touched the ball.

Further, Richardson had a disproportionate number of carries (relative to Ingram) against non-BCS opponents, where he seriously fattened up (35-265, 4 TDs).

Richardson’s stats against some of Bama’s opponents:

Kentucky: 14-26 (Ingram: 22-140)
South Carolina: 5-13 (Ingram: 24-246)
Tennessee: 8-18 (Ingram: 18-99)

In fact, against all BCS opponents, Richardson averaged 4.1 ypc; Ingram averaged 5.9 ypc.

Yes, Richardson had a better game against Auburn. That’s it.

Richardson is a good back, and will likely end up being a very good back, but there’s no comparison between these two right now.

So please, will all of you pushing this claim just stop embarrassing yourselves?

I don’t understand the McCoy hatred, he plays with every fiber of his being, it’s obvious. I actually think Ingram is an awesome player and has a strong character, he always helped other players get up after plays and was never cocky. Tebow didn’t have the most terrific season, but he is also an outstanding player that led his team to 2 national championships. Gerhart is a badass as well. The guy looks like a freaking train running over defenders.

Seriously though, when you criticize other team’s candidates, you are voiding your own opinion. Nobody is going to listen to someone who says “Colt Sucks!” and then you post a video of Gerhart running. Get real. Besides McCoy already won! : )

Colt McCoy will be a College Football HoF’er no doubt.

He saved the best for last going 13-0 this season and 25-1 past two seasons. Should win the Heisman trophy this year.

Voters are smart, they know how hard it is to be consistant and a winner. McCoy is an all-timer! a Winner.
