McCoy is anti-clutch.

He had what, one good game this year?

Way to award him the O-Brien.

I wanted to explain to fans who have posted here why Auburn fans are not for Ingram. It isn't just because the two schools are rivals. Auburn fans feel that because they have two Heisman winners the Award is "an Auburn thing". After the game this year the AU fans were bragging about keeping Ingram from winning. Go figure...

Why is McCoy still 3rd? That alone shows how f'ed up this award and college football in general is.

The guy just got beat down by Suh. That alone should end that tie. Not to mention the fact that he nearly and should have cost his team the NC game.

McCoy and Tebow haven't done anything this year. If they weren't good enough to get it last year, they certainly weren't good enough this year.

The fact is that the persons tasked to vote on The Best college Football Player in 2009 are biased and focus on three things:
1. They pick a player from the offense that produces points(yards) and wins.
2. The voters are biased to pick a player from their geographical area.
3. They are somewhat biased, based on the number of games they have seen televised.
The biases makes the trophy impressive but flawed

This year there is no doubt that SUH is the best, most outstanding player in America. Failing to recognize this shows the flaw in Heisman voters.

Yes, it seems the voters are fickle, basing much of their decision on a single game...hmmm. I can only imagine that is why Colt McCoy was overlooked last year; not making the Big 12 Chmpionship through a fluke...and thus the focus shifted to Sam Bradford. Not to take anything away from the other candidates, but if the voters can overlook McCoy's remarkable college career completion percentage (which they couldn;t remember last year) clearly it will be the rest of us who have to remark on it. Cheers Colt, your career completion percentage was an amazing accomplishment!

If you name is Manning and you play Quarterback, even when you are putting up AMAZING numbers over your career, and putting up better Senior year numbers than Danny Weurfel the year before - you will be ROBBED of the trophy by ESPN as it pimps the RoseBowl on ABC instead of the Orange Bowl on a competing network. (Yes, I am a Tennessee Fan and we are STILL bitter 11 years later).

The Heisman was McCoy's until his offensive line let him down. Suh took his votes. Tebow should not be top 5 this year.

Unbiased Ranking should be;

1. Ingram
2. Gerhart
3. McCoy

Suh would barely be top ten except he had a monster game at the right time. They should create a separate Heisman for defensive players. There's been lots of defensive players with much better stats that were never ranked so high but they didn't throw McCoy to the ground like a rag doll at just the perfect time.
