“Before you’re introduced as a Super Bowl winner, or for playing 15 years in the NFL, or MVP of the Super Bowl,” Jim Plunkett said, “it’s always ‘Heisman Trophy winner’ that comes out of somebody’s mouth.”
Colt McCoy’s record over 4 years should have set him out as the clear winner for the Heisman. He is the winningest quarterback in college history for one. For those of you that convince yourself that is not true, think about it. If Colt McCoy played for USC he would have won the Heiman not just one year but two years, especially with his team going to the National Championship game. Just like Linnert winning the Heisman over Vince Young. Of course, Vince proved who was best by beating USC in the National Championship game.
