I think it’s only a matter of time before an Auburn quarterback has a monster season in Gus Malzahn’s offense. It looks like Cameron Newton could be that guy in 2010. Here’s a good read on him from Andy Staples of Sports Illustrated.
In a year without a cut-and-dried preseason Heisman favorite, Newton has to be considered as a possible dark horse candidate if his development in Auburn’s offense goes smoothly.

Whoaaaaaaaaaa Nellyyyyyyyyyyyyy! I love my Tigers and hope Cam will be the shaft that pumps out some awsome hoss power for our offense. However…..there’s no need to even mention his name and the Heisman in the same sentence…at least not this year. To much hype for a kid that’s yet to take a snap for his new team. Besiders that…what happened to Terrel Pryor’s 3 Heisman Trophies? The kid was suppose to be a savior but as usual was overhyped and overrated. Yep he is a decent QB but no super star as was predicted so let’s hold off on the hype for Newton. I’m gettin frickin old so I’ll settle for a Crystal Ball instead of a solo award!
