While I don’t think Florida’s shown a ton- I’m not sure what Texas has done to seperate themselves from the Gators- as teams replacing legendary starters at QB and struggling to find an offense.

OT: It must gratify you to see Jeff Demps basically proving your point about his insane speed making him deserving of a 5 star recruit ranking despite his football skills- if he keeps improving like he’s been doing it he could be better than CJ Spiller was by the middle of this year, and a legitimate Heisman guy by next season.

So when you didn’t think Florida was a fraud you said they would beat USF by 12, USF would cover the spread and B J Daniels would be uncorked.

Florida is now a fraud because they beat USF by 24 and forced B J Daniels into the worst passing game of his career?

You seem to have little consistency or accountability from day to day in your comments.

Though I appreciate Michigan and Big 10 love, Michigan is NOT on the cusp. Things are moving in the right direction, but they’re still an eight win team. The defense hasn’t really been tested yet and even against mediocre offenses in CT and ND they looked on the edge of completely collapsing. I think the offense will continue to improve to the point where they can put up 400 yards against a solid defense (ND is horrible against the run this year), but unless the defense has some sort of miraculous reawakening they won’t beat a ranked team all year.

Boise State might belong in the fraud category. They may very well win out, but I think they would be crushed by any other team currently in the top ten. The win over VT looks extremely suspect after what happened this weekend. The offense just isn’t as high powered as it has been in past years, and the penalties speak volumes about lack of discipline and preparation.

Here’s a question though: How many games can Michigan lose and Denard Robinson still be considered a legit Heisman choice? I mean, seriously, if he keeps performing like this all year how could he NOT be in contention.

I think jumping Oregon and Oklahoma over Ohio State is not really warranted. Granted they both had good games with impressive margin of victories and Oregon’s win was on the road, but…

Do we really think FSU is any better than Miami? Especially you HP. You’ve been way too impressed with Miami over the last two years. And how good is Tennessee? Nobody knows, but nobody expects much from them either.

As far as Ohio State, they had problems in special teams and scoring in the red zone (only the latter bothers me; they’ll fix the coverage teams), but the defense was its usual stout self. Correction, better than its usual stout self since it has been a while since OSU had a defensive line that could physically manhandle opponents like they did to Miami. OSU won by about two touchdowns but it could have easily been 4. Plus didn’t OSU spank Oregon last year in the Rose Bowl with essentially the same team?

You are crazy to have Nebraska out of your top ten, but I do understand that we (I should say they) have yet to play a real opponent. While Idaho is a good mid-major, Nebraska looked a little sloppy. I look forward to this weekend, where we will hopefully earn our way into the top ten with a win over Washington.

I don’t think it is too crazy to say that if dane crist had been in the entire game, notre dame’s offense probably could have put up a few more points. not saying they would have won, but simply that they would have scored more. However, i agree with the post above, michigan is not on the cusp. they are AT BEST and nine win team, more likely six to eight. Notre Dame and UCONN do not have fast defenses that will challenge Robinson. If he is the real deal, we will know after the big ten season. Look for Taylor Martinez at Nebraska if you want another great young quarterback who can run. If not for Robinson, who is a great talent, everyone would be drooling over Martinez.
