It feels good to be coming off a 6-4 week. On the year, I’m 9-10-1 against the spread. Here’s hoping I can break that .500 mark after this round. All lines courtesy of Doc Sports. Once again, I am only picking games where I see a potential play.
Arkansas (+2) at Georgia–Tough draw for the Georgia defense to try to hold down the Ryan Mallett-led Razorback attack. Georgia hangs tough, but the Hogs will be too much offensively.
Arkansas 31, Georgia 28
Kansas State (-4) vs. Iowa State–The Cyclone have no answer for Daniel Thomas, who should have a big day. Arnaud continues to struggle for Iowa State.
K-State 27, Iowa State 17
San Diego State (+14) at Missouri–The Aztecs have a good thing going on offense and should stay in this game the whole way. Blaine Gabbert pulls it out at the end, though.
Missouri 45, San Diego State 35
Hawaii (+12) at Colorado–Hawaii suddenly turns into road warriors. One week after taking down Army, it gets the upset over Colorado.
Hawaii 38, Colorado 35
Nebraska at Washington (UNDER 53.5 points)–Nebraska puts the clamps on Jake Locker, but Taylor Martinez struggles, too, and the Huskers win an ugly one.
Nebraska 14, Washington 6
Mississippi State (+8) at LSU–The Tigers no longer scare teams like Mississippi State, who should’ve beaten LSU last year. I think Dan Mullen comes up with a great game plan and almost pulls it off again.
LSU 23, Mississippi State 21
Notre Dame (+3.5) at Michigan State–Notre Dame just has too much offense for Michigan State to handle and the Spartan offense isn’t quite on the level of Michigan’s just yet.
Notre Dame 34, Michigan State 23
UCLA (+3) vs. Houston–With Case Keenum’s status in doubt, the Bruins put it all together and get their first win. Breakout game for freshman back Malcolm Jones.
UCLA 41, Houston 34
Stanford (-17) vs. Wake Forest–The Cardinal get revenge for the controversial loss to the Demon Deacons last year. Andrew Luck has a big day.
Stanford 48, Wake Forest 21
Baylor (+21.5) at TCU–This just seems like too many points to me. I like for Robert Griffin to create some things with his feet and to give TCU fits for the first two-and-a-half quarters. The Horned Frogs are a machine though and the Bears won’t be able to stop them.
