Calling the Race

By leading Auburn to a come-from-behind win over Alabama today, Cameron Newton has clinched the 76th Heisman Trophy.

There is nothing that can happen on the field that will cause the current dynamics of the race to change.   Auburn faces South Carolina in the SEC title game next week, but Newton just has to hold serve.  This race is all over, but for the voting.

It’s possible that at some time in the future, there will be repercussions relating to NCAA violations, but that has nothing to do with the here and now and it won’t stop Newton from making his acceptance speech in New York at 8:55 p.m. on December 11.

Congrats to Cam Newton, Heisman winner to be.

There is no question who is the best college football player in the nation and who has meant the most to his team this year. Without Newton, Auburn would be 7-4 at best. With Newton, Auburn is national championship bound.

well thank you ol HP. Now tell me something I didn’t already know weeks ago. I know it’s your worst nightmare but I’m back. By the way I did grow up on ELM STREET so don’t dose off! lmao Never left just read and laughed at all your BS like having Boise #1. Humm they looked like #2 against a decent team. Of course now you can jump mighty Nevada ahead of Auburn and Oregon. Cam has the Heisman and Auburn is a lock for the BCS BOWL no matter what happens against the ol bawl coach. Isn’t it Ironic that my Tigers which were deprived in 2004 will get to silence the quack attack? Yep and sooooooooooo sweet too! Nite nite HP.

AUman, it’s honestly good to see your name again. Just enjoy it while Auburn’s still an accredited university…it won’t be long.

  4. Jams November 27, 2010 at 6:56 am #

Even if he serves up a couple of back-breaking interceptions while being stuffed on the ground to lose to Carolina?

  5. Travis November 27, 2010 at 10:51 am #

@AUman76: Don’t count your chickens before they hatch. While Newton will most likely win the Heisman, and deservedly so for his performance on the field, Auburn still might not make a BCS Bowl.
If SC wins next weekend the two representatives from the SEC could very well be SC and LSU, since LSU will be a top 5 team if it wins today against Arkansas.

    @FRANK We’ll spot you 24! LoL

  7. JMB November 27, 2010 at 7:32 pm #

The sign in the crowd at the Bama game said it all:

    C hizik
    B ought
    S uccess

Frank….Auburn University didn’t do anything wrong. I’ll phrase this like one of the haters would…”you can bank on that”. Miss State
is the one that’s in deep shit. Wait and see.
Nope not wearing Blue colored grasses just know something y’all don’t. Unfortunately it’s a waitnig game before everyone knows the facts not some source BS.
Jams the so called experts and pundits ahve burried us all year but here we are 12-0. These kids are winners not any quit in em. If Cam doesn’t beat you our other weapons will. Contrary to belief my Tigers are not a one man team. If we can come back from 24 down to bammer then the ol bawl coach is in deep shit.
If I’m wrong I’ll be hear to read it!
Travis I ain’t countin chickens however I have counted 12 wins and that’ll get us there. By the way lsu lost so there went one of your teams that by the way we manhandled on the field even if the score looked close. Cold’ve tacked on an additional TD but took a knee. This team will beat you but doesn’t see a need to rub it in.
JT, Auburn will spot anyone 24 and never panic. I don’t particularly wanna see that again but hey….we have that feelin only winner have.
JMB, Chizik didn’t buy anything but MSU tried too. Jonh Bond is in over his head as is the booster and former Miss St player Bell. Wait and see. Also the kid coach that was at MSU last year and is now at bammer knows who did what. An unamed source says he’s the reason the story broke. lil nicky will do most anything to stay on top in recruiting so here another pun, put that one in the bank too and it’ll draw some interest from the ncaa. I know how bad it appears but don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Cam’s dad may need his ass kicked but the kid is in the clear. MSU held back info from both the SEC and the ncaa. Wait and see then you can make a new sign.
By the way DahUofA owes Cam an appology for the no class shit it did before the game. The PA man decided it was ok to taunt Newton when he first stepped onto the field during warm ups. Yep really nice of em to play the songs, “Take the money and run” and “Son of a preacher man”. Of course fans had signs and tossed fake money at him but that’s fans not offical Univerity Of Alabama employees. Whoever did it should be fired for making a personal attack on an individual player. Go after the entire team if you want but never for any reason single out an individual in a team sport. But then againn that’s why bammer is bammer.
See y’all after we pussy whup the cocks again. We beat UT twice in 2004 so we have a lil experience at this sorta thing.
Did I see us being this good in September? Nope but said we would win the west and did. Also said bammer would lose 3 games and they did.
Last but not least….HP what the F happened to lame kitty and all those 5* recruits? you lost to ND? Notre Dame? Whew…. how far the once overrated…I mean mighty has fallen.
Here’s our lil sayin on the cyber plains, “We are AUBURN and you are FU(KED”!
    12 down 2 to go….next.
Sure I know anything can happen cause it already has.

sorry bout the pitiful spellin but just finished an 18 hour shift. Owning one’s own business around the holidays with everyone wants off can be a pain in the ass.

  10. Frank November 28, 2010 at 12:33 am #

I assume you’re familiar with all of these allegations. Care to refute some of them for me?

I think HPs point is that enough ballots will be in that it really wont matter barring an absolutely unprecedented collapse- normally regional canidates would require waiting but as Newton’s the only canidate in the East, Southeast or really anywhere south of the Mason Dixon or East of the Rockies- all those voters will send in earlier than usual.

AUman 76…When the Feds clear the taped calls that they received from Mississippi State “people” and when the testimonies of ex-Auburn coaaches is complete, not only will Cam and Cecil be completely exposed but Auburn’s “back room” athletic fund along with the payoffs over the past twenty years will become exposed. Ex-Auburn coaches will get no prison terms for telling all and Auburn will end up with the “SMU” death penalty! Take it to the banki, boy!

  13. AUman76 November 28, 2010 at 6:45 pm #

Frank, prove any of em? Prove that Auburn paid a penny to anyone and while you’re at it check Cam Netons bank account and see if any deposits were made by any anonamous sources? Go ahead do the leg work for the FBI and the ncaa. While you’re at it other than a high school coaches word tell me where the money is and where it came from in the Albert Means case concerning bammer? That’s right you can’t and neither can I because even the FBI couldn’t find a damn penny. Time will tell and the media knew about all the allegations for months but didn’t give a rat’s ass till Auburn beat LSS and was a real threat to run the table. That’s why so many media talkin heads have predicted us to lose every big game. This ain’t the reggie Bush “deal” put that in the bank! MSU is in deep shit not AU.

  14. AUman76 November 28, 2010 at 7:05 pm #

who let the dawg out? You’re full of bull shit and if you’re a uga dawg, what’s your former AD up these days? Still trying screwing a young chick? If you’re a MSU dawg? You are one screwed pooch! Talkin about ex coaches? Wow this from Jackie Sherril U. Let’s do go back 20 years and see what we can dig up on MSU too. Now that those coaches can testify as to what went on then. Then we’ll jump ahead and see what current staff members, ex players and boosters are up to. I’ll tell what they’re up to…their eye balls into deep shit. You’re lil connection to that lil fuck named Urban Meyer is gonna cost your school and then Mullen will move on leaving the dawgs chain to an ncaa whippin post. See what you wanna see and say what you will but facts and hearsay ain’t they same.
One question? Why the hell would anyone wanna go to Cow Bell U to play football? No good facilities, no consistant good coaching and no tradition outside of cow bells and losing.
Auburn is 12-0 with Cam and MSU is 8-4 without him Florida is 7-5 without him and bammer is 9-3 because of him…that in a nut shell is what this is all about. They all had a part in leaking info. Wait and see!

  15. AUman76 November 28, 2010 at 7:09 pm #

Hey I figured out why a player would wanna go to CowBellU….there’s a 180,000 reasons if you can help em win!
