Heisman Watch 2011 — 21 June 2011
The Real Heisman Odds

Bodog came out with their Heisman odds last week and, as usual, created a bit of buzz over who was and wasn’t high on their list.

I don’t usually give odds here, but I thought I’d put down a more realistic line:

Andrew Luck — 2/1

LaMichael James — 3/1

Trent Richardson — 4/1

Landry Jones — 6/1

Kellen Moore — 12/1

Denard Robinson — 15/1

Geno Smith — 25/1

Dayne Crist — 40/1

Field — 100/1

  1. Much, much more realistic then the Bodog ones. Not sure whey they included the Northwestern QB on the list.

  2. Where can I put $20 on Marcus Lattimore at 100:1? The rest of the “field” is an added bonus.

  3. Those odds look descent but one thing to consider, the last 3 heisman winners came out of nowhere to win it. Tebow, Ingram, and Newton were on nobody’s preseason list. They were actually all first year starters.

Oh, I forgot about Bradford. He probably was on some preseason lists before the 2008 season considering he had a very good freshman year. But my point still stands.

  4. When you say field do you mean, you get everybody else? Or are you saying for any actual individual not listed above?

  5. Field has to mean an unlisted individual. Otherwise field would be the favorite, not a 100-1 shot.
