Well, duh.
What more can be said about the game Smith had against Baylor? Anytime you throw for 656 yards and eight touchdowns on 45-of-51 passing, you’ve done something right.
That didn’t stop the usual chattering on Twitter on Saturday that what he did was easy to do since it was “just Baylor” that he was doing it against. Well, if it is so easy, why isn’t anyone else doing it?
It’s tough to complete 45 out of 51 passes against air, much less a real, live defense. And some of the balls that Smith placed against Baylor were incredibly precise, nullifying the times the Bears managed tight coverage.
For his performance, Smith is our Heisman Player of the Week. For more thoughts on his Heisman chances, go here.
