I wrote a piece in the preseason about the five schools that were most likely to win their first Heisman in the next five years.
On the flip side, here are 20 schools that have won a Heisman that have the longest current Heisman droughts (FBS schools only):
1. TCU, 74 years
2. Iowa, 73 years
3. Minnesota, 71 years
4. SMU, 64 years
5. Texas A&M, 55 years
6. Army, 54 years
7. LSU, 53 years
8. Syracuse, 51 years
9. Oregon State, 50 years
10. Navy, 49 years
11. UCLA, 45 years
12. Stanford, 43 years
13. Penn State, 39 years
14. Pittsburgh, 36 years
15. South Carolina, 32 years
16. Georgia, 30 years
17. Boston College, 28 years
18. Notre Dame, 25 years
19. Oklahoma State, 24 years
20. Houston, 23 years
Of note: Notre Dame is tied for the most Heismans at seven, but its 25-year drought since Tim Brown’s win in 1987 is now longer than the 23-year drought between John Huarte’s 1964 win and when Brown won.
