With Johnny Manziel poised to bring Texas A&M its second Heisman in school history, I thought I’d look back on its first winner, John David Crow, who won in 1957. Here he is accepting the Heisman at the Downtown Athletic Club in New York City:
Crow’s trademark scowl was the result of an accident at birth (h/t to the comment section):

I’m not sure if this was an ill attempt at a joke or just your complete lack of research but his “scowl” wasn’t a trademark anything …. the left side of his face was paralyzed in an accident during birth.
Yes it was meant to be a joke but nothing mean hearted. From the research that I did, it was his trademark look that he embraced and was not embarrassed about. If he were to read this I don’t think he would feel disrespected.
Would you feel disrespected?
Good gawd, bunch of women posting here. A little web search would reveal many references to JDC’s countenance as a scowl.
Quit being so freakin’ sensitive.
Coach Bear Bryant once said of John David ” He would be a very handsome lad if it wasn’t for that affliction. When he carries the ball, he’s the most handsome lad I’ve ever seen.”
